HIV Training FAQ
- I'm having trouble printing my certificate - what should I do?
In order to view and print the certificate, you must have the Adobe Acrobat plugin for your browser. This plugin is installed when you install Adobe Acrobat Reader. When the certificate loads in your browser, you will see the Acrobat tool bar which will allow you to save or print the certificate If you are having problems printing documents from this site, we recommend that you upgrade your browser version: Internet Explorer 7 (or above) and Mozilla Firefox 1.5 (or above) are recommended. We also recommend that you download and install the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you have tried these methods but are still experiencing difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your feedback is always appreciated, especially as we continue to improve the site - What kind of computer equipment and Internet access do I need to use this online education?
Users need high-speed Internet connection (DSL or cable, no dial-up) and audio capabilities (sound card) to accommodate streaming audio and video. If user has an Apple computer, Internet Explorer and Windows Media 9 are needed and can be obtained at no charge. Public libraries in larger cities usually have high speed Internet access, but may have a time limit as to how long user can be on their computers. Adobe's Flash Player software is needed and can be downloaded from Adobe at no charge. - I am having a problem using this training. What should I do?
There may be computer hardware problems at your end, such as how old your computer is, does it have a sound card, modem connection or if you have a dial up connection (remember streaming audio and video require a high speed internet connection). Institutions such as hospitals may have "firewalls" that prevent employees from using internet based trainings; check with your facility's Information Technical System department. To take the courses and quizzes, only a modern internet browser (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox) and a broadband internet connection is required. No special software is needed. The courses and tests do, however, depend on having the most current Flash player. You should upgrade to the latest free version of the player at the Adobe Flash Player Download Center. You can see what version you have, and other details at the Flash Player Information Site. If you need to know the minimum system requirements for flash, this can be found at the Adobe System Requirements page for the Flash Player. - My Internet connection doesn't seem reliable, and therefore am having trouble viewing courses. What should I do?
If your internet connection seems spotty or it appears that you keep getting kicked off this site while watching course videos, you should first check with your Internet Service Provider. It is possible that your connection is intermittent due to high usage in your area, or that your modem or other equipment is not functioning correctly. Please verify that your connectivity is in working order before contacting our technical support group for assistance. - Who is responsible for the training content?
Health Information Network. - Who is responsible for the technical side of this training?
Health Information Network. - How much does this educational training cost and what are the payment options?
Online training is $10 per segment hour, so the 4-hour requirement is $40, the 7-hour requirement is $70. Payment options are VISA, MasterCard, and Discover credit or debit cards. The transaction description on your credit card statement will show as "Health Information Networ" which is how our bank set up our credit card processing account. - After buying my training I received a 'Credit Card Declined' message - what does this mean?
Our students' credit cards are verified by the Cybersource Address Verification System, built directly into banking networks. It validates the credit card information presented for processing, prevents fraud and is very strict. A credit card may be declined if the address and name entered for the card do not MATCH 100% the name and address on file for the card holder, so the transaction may be denied. If this is happening to you, then you need to contact your financial institution for more information. To speed up the processing of your order, please ensure your billing address matches the address on your credit card statement. - What information is sent to Health Information Network regarding the payment and quiz results of this training?
We receive a copy of each student's payment receipt automatically as well as a copy of the completed quiz results upon completion with time and date stamp. We know if students have put in the time required to meet their requirements. - To meet the 4-hour requirement, do I really have to select the 4 hr. HIV Training Bundle and view all four hours?
Yes. and viewing these sequentially works the best. The 4 hr HIV Training Bundle ensures the correct set of segments. If you are taking this training for WA licensing purposes, the state is very rigid that students view all 4 hours. Students can stop and re-start the training and are best served if they finish viewing an entire segment as the system is not agile enough to remember if a student stopped mid-way through a segment. - To meet the 7-requirement, do I really have to select the 7 hr. HIV Training Bundle and view all 7 hours?
Yes and viewing these sequentially works the best. Selecting the 7 hr. HIV Training Bundle ensures the correct set of segments. If you are taking this training for WA licensing purposes, the state is very rigid that students view all 7 hours. Students can stop and re-start the training and are best served if they finish an entire segment before stopping as the system is not agile enough to remember if a student stopped mid-way through a segment. - After the course is paid for, then what?
Ten minutes after the course has been purchased, students will receive an auto email providing in-depth instructions to help them successfully complete the course. Users view the videos online by going to "Your Courses; videos will not be mailed by regular mail to your house unless you purchased the hardcopy video kits. - Can I stop and re-start the training, or it is necessary to do whole training at once and time limit policy.
Users can stop and re-start the training, but need to log back in if they re-start, so make sure your password is written down. Keep a record also where you stopped, so you can continue where you left off. Topics vary in length and if a student needs to stop, complete the segment you are watching. Students have 45 days from the date of purchase to complete the training and take the test. If a student does not complete the training including taking the post test within the 45 day limit, we can offer one extension. Beyond three months after original purchase, students will need to re-buy the training. - I need this training for licensing purposes; how do I get verification I have completed the required hours?
After viewing the videos, students using this training for licensing purposes select the correct test according to the number of hours required, and take that post-test after viewing the videos. The post-test is not available unless the training has been purchased and videos viewed. After completion of post-test, it will be graded online and students will know upon completion if they have passed; 75% correct is a passing score. When a student successfully passes, a message will appear on your screen of successful completion of the training, and a link to the certificate of completion. If there has been either a name change or address change, please make sure we have the most current information for those items. Students can email us those changes to information@healthinfonetwork.org. Health Information Network does not send test results or completion certificates to the WA Dept. of Licensing for our students; it is the student's responsibility to send a hard copy of the completion certificate along with their application to WA Dept. of Licensing. We also suggest making many hard copies of the completion certificate. Lost certificates replaced for $10 which is payable to Health Information Network upon our verification of student's passing post test score. - What records should I keep?
Keep a copy of your payment receipt and upon finishing post-test, save these copies to your own computer, or print a copy out. Be aware once the test is finished and user logs out, the quiz results are not retrievable and the test will need to be taken again. Make many copies of your completion certificate and keep in a safe place. Health Information Network can issue a replacement certificate but does charge $5 to cover the cost. If you have lost your completion certificate, call or email us. - For WA State licensing purposes, are Health Information Network's certificates of completion recognized by the Dept. of Licensing Boards?
Yes, however do not send your post-test or quiz results to your WA State Licensing Board. After you receive your certificate, make several copies and then send a copy of our certificate along with your state application to the appropriate WA State licensing board to obtain your professional license. - How do I pay for LIVE classroom training?
Use our shopping cart after reserving your space. - When does system maintenance occur?
Since April 2008, Adhost Internet has provided web hosting services, and we are very pleased with their consistently high level of service. Both Adhost and Health Information Network's goal is to provide reliable service to our customers and Adhost's extensive back up systems has helped us achieve that goal. If a technical difficulty occurs, we will post a notice to that effect on our home page. - Is this training approved for Continuing Education Credits?
